Dr. Lia Nadaraia is renown women’s human rights defender with over 35 years’ commitment to Feminist activism. After Georgia’s independence, she professionally began to work on the advancement of Women’s Human Rights nationally, regionally, internationally.
Current positions/Functions:
Since 2015: Member of CEDAW Committee
Since 2016: Member of Gender Network of Eastern Partnership (GeNEP)
Since 2014: Chairperson of the South Caucasus Women’s Congress (SCWC);
Since 1998: President of the Caucasian Feminist Institute
Main professional activities in the field of WHR and Gender Equality include monitoring of implementation of CEDAW convention, promotion of women’s participation in politics and peacebuilding, awareness raising and education on Women’s Human Rights, Gender Equality and Feminism.
