Hacer Foggo has worked as a correspondent for various newspapers and periodicals focusing particularly on human rights topics for 15 years. Since 2003, she stood in solidarity as an activist with the inhabitants of the neighbourhoods of Sulukule, Küçükbakkalköy and Kağıthane, where the Romani people were displaced due to urban transformation projects and ensured that lawsuits were filed. She established the Deep Poverty Solidarity Network with her friends during the pandemic and ensured that thousands of families who could not access basic needs received food, tablets, etc. In addition, she was selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2015 and one of the 10 women leaders from Turkey at the Wow Women of the World Festival in 2021. She has a review book published under the name Kırmızı Püskül [The Red Tassel].
