A child development expert, Ezgi Koman founded and acted as the coordinator of Çatı Children’s Library and Art Workshop in 1998. Between 2000 and 2006, she was the editor-in-chief of the monthly Çoluk Çocuk magazine for parents and educators which had the aim of realising the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Koman was the dialogue and advocacy coordinator of the Human Rights Joint Platform between November 2006 and July 2012. Between July 2012 and November 2016, Koman was the coordinator of the Child Rights Centre of Gündem Çocuk Association, of which she was one of the founders, until the association was shut down by Presidential Decree on November 23rd 2016. Koman, who was the Child Rights Coordinator of the Turkey branch of Amnesty International between 2004 and 2008, works on the systematic monitoring and reporting of child rights in Turkey and she writes weekly columns on child rights in Yeni Yaşam newspaper. Since 2018, Koman has continued her work on child rights at FISA Child Rights Centre, of which she is one of the founders.
