Evan King currently coordinates ESCR-Net’s System of Solidarity (SOS), a vehicle for facilitating member-to-member solidarity and collective actions in defense of members facing imminent threats due to their defense of human and environmental rights. Prior to joining ESCR-Net, he spent years engaged in international protective accompaniment, political education and grassroots solidarity work in Colombia, where he documented human rights violations, accompanied land and environmental defenders and advocated for the collective protection of Black, Indigenous and Campesino communities resisting environmental degradation, mass displacement and dispossession.
