Eleftheria Pertzinidou is an EU official. She currently serves as Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission of the European Union Delegation to Turkey (since September 2019).
Before coming to Turkey, she served for two years as First Counsellor, Head of the Political, Press and Information Section in the Delegation of the European Union to Mexico.
She worked as European Correspondent in the European External Action Service –EEAS, supporting the work of the Political Director, including preparation of political and security dialogues with third countries, G7 meetings, the UN General Assembly Ministerial Week, Foreign Affairs Councils and bi-annual Gymnich meetings.
Prior to this post, she was the Political Officer responsible for relations with Turkey in the EEAS for four years. She has been working on enlargement and neighbourhood policy related matters since she joined the EU institutions in 2004. She also worked as Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus in a time of increased EU engagement in the region. Before joining the EU, she worked as project manager in the Communication Policies Programme of the European Institute for the Media in Düsseldorf, Germany.
She studied law in Thessaloniki, Greece, and did postgraduate studies in European Law and Politics in the European Institute of the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany.
She speaks Greek (native speaker), English, German, French and Spanish and has basic notions of Turkish.
